The NFL has appointed WPP-owned sponsorship agency Prism to attract sponsors for
the league’s debut regular season game in the UK at Wembley Stadium in October.
Prism, which won the account following a competitive pitch, will be charged
exclusively with bringing in brands for the game on 28th October between the
Miami Dolphins and the New York Giants.
The game is the first time that the NFL has staged a regular season match
outside of the US with the UK beating off the likes of Germany and Spain to win
the rights to host the tie.
WPP-owned agency Prism has worked in sports marketing since 1993 and has a
number of high profile clients including Ford and Shell.
The NFL is one of a host of US sports franchises planning games in the UK
this year with the NBA and the NHL also staging ties in London in the
autumn.
