The National Football League (NFL) and Snapchat have extended their partnership with the league building its own official channel.

The expansion of the strategic partnership will see the NFL be the first league to have its own Discover channel, where it can curate behind the scenes and match day content.

The NFL already had an agreement with Snapchat to create stories on the platform, which has also been expanded to cover every regular season game.

As part of the deal, the NFL will also create Snapchat geofilters for each of its teams which will be available when users are in the vicinity of each team’s stadiums.

The league and company will sell the ad slots that will appear within the Discover and Live Stories content, with Snapchat taking on the bulk of the responsibility.

“The launch of the NFL on Discover will provide a key touch point to follow storylines throughout the week, and the expansion of Live Stories will provide fans with a unique perspective of the excitement in and around our stadiums at every game all season-long,” said Blake Stuchin, NFL, director of digital media business development.
