The UK arm of the NFL is pushing to stage four American Football games a season in London by 2012.
At the moment one game from the American sports franchise is staged each year at Wembley Stadium.
However NFL UK managing director Alistair Kirkwood has stated that they hope to stage two games in the city next year and, if successful, double that number by 2012.
Kirkwood said: ‘We are talking to different teams to see who would be willing to do it. We would like a game at the end of September and another at the end of October.
‘If we go to two games the next step would be to go to four games per year. I would like to do that after the 2012 Olympics.’
The two NFL games previously staged in London were at maximum capacity, while tickets for the game staged this weekend sold even faster.
Kirkwood continued: ‘We stand a really good chance of moving to two games if this works out well. I like the idea of 85,000 people in the stadium – and that makes Wembley a favourite.’
This year’s game saw the New England Patriots crush the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 35-7.
