Nike has renewed its partnership with UK Athletics, agreeing a ten-year deal as kit supplier.

The deal will see the sportswear company continue to be the official team wear supplier to British athletes and para-athletes outside the Olympics, until 2030.

UK Athletics and Nike first partnered in 2014 and the new deal will see the brand increase its support for the British Athletics’ Futures Programme, which funds the next generation of athletes.

The initial seven-year contract was due to expire in 2020, with an estimated value of £15m.

Niels de Vos, chief executive of UK Athletics, said: “We are delighted to announce this significant contract extension with Nike until 2030 in one of the strongest ever collaborations for athletics in the UK. As well as its apparel and kit ensuring our athletes look and feel the part when representing the nation, its investment in the Futures programme demonstrates real commitment to supporting the next generation of British athletes.

“This commitment to British Athletics is a brilliant platform of support for the sport to move forward with. We’re looking forward to collaborating with Nike further over the next few years on some exciting projects.”

Bert Hoyt, vice president and general manager of Nike EMEA, added: “We are excited to extend Nike’s successful partnership with British Athletics; a partnership that will see us deliver innovation at every level of the sport, from grassroots programming to elite level competition. This is a statement of commitment to the sport and supporting world class athletes – investing in the talent of today and tomorrow.”

Niels de Vos will be speaking at the next Deltatre Sport Industry Breakfast Club on 6th September. Find out more here
