Sportswear brand Nike has launched its World Cup advert ‘Write the Future’ featuring Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo and Homer Simpson.
The commercial, 3 minutes long, will make its TV debut in 32 countries during live coverage of the Champions League final between Inter Milan and Bayern Munich on Saturday.
The advert was produced by Alejandro G Inarritu, the director of the films 21 Grams and Babel.
The spot also features footballers Andres Iniesta, Fabio Cannavaro, Didier Drogba and special guest cameos are made by tennis player Roger Federer and basketball giant Kobe Bryant.
The advert predicts World Cup heartache for England as Wayne Rooney slips a pass to England team-mate Theo Walcott in the dying stages of a World Cup match against France, with the score at 1-1 but Franck Ribery makes an interception.
The World Cup kicks off on the 11th June when South Africa play Mexico.
