Following the home kit launch last week, Nike has unveiled the new England away kit for 2013, which will debut in the upcoming friendly in Brazil on Sunday.
The home kit was launched a week ago via Jack Wilshere’s twitter feed.
According to the sportswear brand, the new kit combines the rich history and national pride with the distinctive values of the England team and their style.
The kit sees the return of England’s red away colour, first worn in 1951, and was famously sported when the country won the World Cup at Wembley in 1966.
The placket has two buttons; the bottom one is red, while the top one is white with red thread to replicate the St George’s cross.
To celebrate the Football Association’s 150th anniversary the iconic three lions crest is entirely gold on the away shirt.
There is also a gold star above the crest to celebrate England’s win in 1966, and a gold ribbon graphic beneath it inscribed with ‘150 years’ and accompanied by the dates 1863 and 2013.
The away shorts are white with another gold crest on the front, while the new away socks are red with a thin white band at the top.
