Northampton Saints has appointed Tony Davison as its new Commercial Director.
Joining up with the Premiership Rugby team from Sunderland AFC, where he was Managing Director until leaving the club in October 2019, Davison will report to CEO Mark Darbon and will be tasked with helping the club step up its commercial ambitions and increase revenues at Franklin’s Gardens.
“I am very pleased to welcome Tony to Saints at an exciting time for the club,” said Mark Darbon, CEO, Northampton Saints.
“We are in the middle of a five-year strategic plan to bring the club back to profitability and Tony will play a key role in realising this ambition.
“He brings with him a huge wealth of knowledge and experience, and we look forward to having him apply his extensive industry expertise at Saints.”
During his time at Sunderland, Davison was responsible for the club’s business operations, including developing and implementing its long-term commercial strategies and sales functions.
Prior to working at Sunderland, Davison has held senior commercial roles in football at Tottenham Hotspur and Oxford United, as well as Lagardere and IMG.
