Our Future Health has partnered with the official university esports body for the UK, National Student Esports (NSE).
The new esports partnership will aim to ‘raise awareness of Our Future Health, the UK’s largest ever health research programme, and recruit volunteers from NSE’s young and diverse audience.’
This is the third sports partner announced by Our Future Health, with NSE joining Everyone Active and Last Man Stands as organisations already helping to recruit volunteers from across the UK.
Our Future Health is working in partnership with the NHS to recruit up to 5 million volunteers over the age of 18, to create a detailed picture of health in the UK. The aim is to create a ‘world-leading resource for health researchers to make new discoveries about disease prevention, detection and treatment.’
Our Future Health has cited diversity as key factor behind the new relationship with NSE. NSE will help Our Future Health achieve its aims by offering a chance to engage a community that spans a wide range of backgrounds.
Dr Raghib Ali, Chief Executive and Chief Medical Officer at Our Future Health, said, “We’re delighted to partner with National Student Esports and are hugely grateful for their support as we encourage more people to take part in Our Future Health. NSE are offering us a brilliant opportunity to spread awareness among people under 30 and those from diverse backgrounds, and these are the people we’re striving to represent in Our Future Health. By volunteering for our programme, students can help make discoveries about diseases that may benefit them in future.”
Alex Coulson, Managing Director at NSE, added,“With a community of passionate and diverse students, NSE is excited to partner with Our Future Health in their mission to revolutionise disease prevention. By engaging our community in this vital research programme, we aim to empower students across the UK to contribute to a healthier future, while raising awareness about the importance of inclusive health research.”
