The Color Run presented by Skittles event series, taking place in five cities throughout the UK this summer, has announced the NSPCC will renew its position as official charity partner.
The event, which is organised by IMG, allows friends, family and colleagues to walk, jog, or dance their way along a 5K course at their own pace, with no stopwatches or timers involved.
The NSPCC is the UK’s leading children’s charity specialising in child protection. Its vision is to end cruelty to children in the UK and make a difference for all children by standing up for their rights, listening to them, and by making them safe. ChildLine, the UK’s free, confidential 24-hour helpline and online service, this year celebrates its 30th anniversary.
Andy Knee, managing director EMEA, mass participation sports, IMG, commented: We’re extremely pleased to be continuing our partnership with the NSPCC into 2016. Their presence at the event series last year was a fantastic addition, with more than £180,000 raised, and we hope our participants throw themselves into fundraising for such a great cause once again.”
NSPCC, director of fundraising, Paul Farthing, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to once again be the official charity partner of the ‘Happiest 5K on the Planet’. By taking part in The Color Run presented by Skittles 2016 and raising money for the NSPCC, people will be joining our fight for every childhood, helping us protect children and prevent abuse here in the UK.”
