David Campbell, chief executive of AEG Europe, is set to join Formula One to handle sponsorship and hospitality for supremo Bernie Ecclestone according to reports.
Campbell is responsible for turning The O2 Arena into one of the most popular music and event venues in the world, but is expected to leave AEG in the first quarter of next year.
Campbell will become the managing director of Allsport Management, the arm of Formula One which handles trackside advertising and sponsorship, according to Sky News.
He is also the former boss of Virgin Radio and has been at AEG for the past 5 years, having also worked for Pepsi and the London Tourist Board.
Reports suggest that Campbell could now be in line to replace the 80-year-old Ecclestone as the chief executive of Formula One.
