O2, official sponsors of England Rugby, has revealed it will be sending fans across the country a special ‘pie and pint’ pack during the RBS 6 Nations as part of the new O2 For England campaign.

Up to 25,000 O2 For England packs will be sent to England supporters to enjoy whilst watching the match action at home.

The packs, which are free of charge to O2 customers, contain two fresh pies and two chilled beers plus an England flag to help fans get behind the team from the comfort of their sofa.

O2 ran a similar campaign during the recent Rugby World Cup in New Zealand entitled ‘Get up for England’, which encouraged fans to get out of bed for the early kick offs for the tournament on the other side of the world.

This time round, the ‘Hope & Glory’ pie – specially created by Pieminister for the RBS 6 Nations – contains British beef steak and smoked bacon, whilst the vegetarian ‘St George’ pie is filled with baked beans, button mushrooms and smoked cheddar cheese.

Both versions will be included in the packs, alongside two 440ml cans of Greene King IPA, Official Beer of England Rugby.

O2 marketing and consumer director Sally Cowdry said: ‘At O2 we are committed to delivering great experiences for our customers. We know how much they love our pie and a pint offer at Twickenham and so we built upon that to create O2 For England. By combining it with Priority Moments we are able to offer a campaign that truly has something for everyone.’

‘Rugby fans on O2 can now have an enhanced match day experience whether watching a game at home, in a pub with friends or at Twickenham.’

England head coach Stuart Lancaster added: ‘Having the support of the fans, wherever they are, is a real boost for the players. O2 For England is a perfect way to help fans cheer on the team from home.’

Fans on O2 can be in with a chance of getting their hands on a pie pack by visiting www.O2ForEngland.co.uk, texting PIE to 2020.
