Sports and entertainment marketing agency Octagon has named Sebastian Smith its new executive vice president, and will be responsible for driving the growth of Octagon in Europe, leading pan-regional strategy initiatives and supporting the agency’s multi-market clients.

Smith, who will be based in Octagon’s London office, will be focused on further developing Octagon’s marketing practice across the region, while providing senior-level strategic support for Octagon clients including MasterCard, Aeroflot, AB InBev and Sony.

“Sebastian has developed a great reputation throughout the industry, so we are thrilled to have him join our team,” said Jeff Ehrenkranz, managing director, Octagon EMEI.

“Sebastian’s experience across the sports and brand landscape make him a great asset. Coming off Octagon Europe’s strongest year in a decade, where we enhanced our creative, digital and strategic capabilities, Sebastian’s addition positions us for continued growth and success.”

Smith will serve as a member of Octagon’s regional management team and partner with Octagon’s Marc Brix, managing director Germany, and Tim Collins, managing director UK, to focus on driving market-specific business growth.

Sebastian joins Octagon after a short period as a Partner at Redmandarin. Prior to that, Sebastian was an SVP at IMG, where he spent 10 years in a variety of leadership roles within IMG’s international consulting division leading several client relationships and business development across the network.
