Surrey County Cricket Club has unveiled the latest phase of its redevelopment plans for The Brit Oval including the construction of a hotel at the pavilion end.
The blueprint for the work will see The Surrey Tavern demolished, and the Lock and Laker stands replaced, with 2,000 extra seats added.
Chief executive Paul Sheldon said: ‘There is intense pressure on all grounds that host international cricket to provide high-quality facilities.
‘It is vital The Oval continues to strive to produce the best spectator facilities of any cricket stadium.’
The work is the latest stage of the redevelopment of the ground which began with the rebuilding of the OCS Stand two years ago.
It is thought that the latest development work will be completed by 2009.
