After putting one foot firmly in the UEFA Champions League group stages with a 3-0 away victory over Fenerbahce last night, Arsenal have announced the signing of a new three-year sponsorship agreement with Irish bookmaker Paddy Power.
Paddy Power will now act at the official betting partner of the Barclays Premier League side in the UK, Ireland and Italy.
The partnership will be activated with offers and exclusive bets around certain Arsenal fixtures this season, as well as through the club’s digital and social media platforms.
In addition Paddy Power will have access to Arsenal’s first-team squad for promotional activities and the club’s marketing database, and receive hospitality at Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal’s head of global partnerships Vinai Venkatesham said: ‘As we enter into the season, we are delighted to have agreed a long term deal to welcome back Paddy Power as a partner.’
‘They are a respected leader within the betting industry, and our partnership will ensure Arsenal fans have access to unique betting offers when backing their team.’
Paddy Power has quickly expanded its presence in football over the last two weeks. The bookmakers saved Farnborough FC from administration by taking over as the side’s new main sponsor – changing the players’ names to create the Greatest XI ever – as well as agreeing a new partnership with Absolute Radio’s Rock ‘N’ Roll Football Match Day Warm Up show.
For Arsenal, the deal with Paddy Power follows last week’s announcement of a new partnership with Bodog as their betting partner in Asia.
Second-half goals from Gibbs, Ramsey (both pictured above) and Giroud secured a convincing 3-0 victory at Fenerbahce in Istanbul last night, in a performance that should see them safely through to the Champions League group stages once again in the two-leg tie.
