Panasonic Joins Tokyo 2020 Paralympics

Panasonic has agreed a deal to sponsor the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and will see the company become a top-tier gold partner.

The Japanese electronics brand will be gold partner in the audio-visual equipment, home appliances, electric bicycles, care products and power assist suit category.

The addition of Panasonic brings the total numbers of Tokyo 2020 Paralympic partners to 44, with a gold partner being the highest tier of the domestic sponsorship programme. Paralympic partners include three Worldwide Olympic Partners Atos, Bridgestone and Omega as Tokyo 2020 Paralympic gold partners.

Tokyo 2020, president, Yoshiro Mori said: “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Panasonic Corporation as a Tokyo 2020 Paralympic gold partner. Panasonic is a worldwide Olympic partner, and supported the Paralympic Games for a total of 16 years beginning with the Nagano 1998 Winter Paralympic Games. Through its various sponsorship activities, Panasonic has accumulated a wealth of experience and expertise in Games-related matters, and we are confident that the company will make a valuable contribution to the success of the Tokyo 2020 Games.”
