parkrun UK has hired Threepipe to help develop and articulate its brand positioning and engage with new potential partners.
Established in 2004 and now taking place in over 300 parks and open spaces around the UK, parkrun is a series of free, weekly, timed runs managed by volunteers from the local community.
Involving over 50,000 runners and 4,500 volunteers every week, parkrun events offer 5k runs for adults of all ages and 2k for juniors only (aged four – 14) every Saturday and Sunday respectively.
In the new deal, Threepipe will now help in defining the brand’s values, positioning and key messages as well as planning a targeted PR campaign aimed at raising awareness amongst potential commercial and public sector partners.
Tom Williams, parkrun UK managing director, said: ‘As parkrun continues to grow in the UK, with more and more entrants and runs every week, it was important for us to define exactly what the parkrun brand is for our community as well as potential partners.’
‘Working collaboratively with Threepipe and being able to utilise their experience helped us to establish the parkrun offering and support our growth as a brand and community.’
Eddie May, co-founder at Threepipe, added: ‘parkrun is a great initiative with the ability to bring communities together at both a local and national level. Being able to use our experience to offer insight and help to define a brand, especially one as exciting as parkrun, is a challenge we always relish as an agency.’
