France and Olympique De Marseille player Patrice Evra has launched a new campaign against racism, bullying, homophobia and discrimination in football, #BeAPanda.

The campaign follows a series of films in which Patrice brings to life a giant panda, raising awareness of serious issues like racism and bullying by using fun, humour and the element of surprise. The videos will be hosted on Patrice’s Dugout channel, while Dugout’s network of clubs and players will be showing their support for the campaign over the coming weeks.

The campaign is developed with Dugout.com, a digital platform supported by football clubs and players, which gives football fans unrivalled behind-the-scenes access and exclusive content, including Patrice’s panda films.

Be a Panda kicks off with a film from Patrice, in which a Panda visits the French star at his new club, Olympique De Marseille.

Patrice Evra said: “Be a Panda! It doesn’t matter if you are black or white, or what shape or size you are – we are all people and we must say NO to racism or any other discrimination. I LOVE this game! It brings the world together and anyone can play – no matter what you look like or where you are from. This campaign is about making people laugh, but also making them think about these big issues, and what we can all do to help.”

Dugout president Elliot Richardson said: “Be A Panda is all about Patrice using his global status and popularity to make the world a better place. The campaign uses fun content to engage people across the world in unusual ways and really make its messages stand out from the crowd – it’s a bit crazy, but it’s this type of unique view into footballers’ lives off the pitch that we know Dugout users love! We’re proud to be supporting Patrice and look forward to sharing more great Be a Panda content in the weeks and months to come.”
