Pepsi is launching an anti-child obesity advertising campaign starring footballers Frank Lampard and Thierry Henry.

The new ad campaign has been launched by PepsiCo, under the banner Play4Life, which forms part of the government’s wider £75m anti-obesity campaign called Change4Life.

The strapline for the ad featuring Lampard reads ‘Even the best finishers need someone to start them off,’ while the Henry creative states ‘My influences? Marco van Basten, Maradona. My father’.

The campaign, developed by ad agency AMV BBDO and media agency OMD, will run nationally until December using posters, press, bus sides and digital advertising.

As part of Play4Life, a coalition of media companies has committed the equivalent of more than £200m in ad space and services, under the auspices of the Advertising Association, to help battle the rising childhood obesity crisis.
