Unilever has announced a new, three-year agreement that will see its Persil brand become the Official Laundry Supplier to England Rugby.
The detergent brand aims to use the partnership to celebrate the rugby community nationwide, while encouraging more families to get outdoors and give rugby a go, under the banner of its ‘Dirt is Good’ campaign.
To launch the partnership, the brand is offering one young rugby fan the chance to be an official England mascot at the Autumn International on 3rd November 2018.
In 2019, Persil will aim to give more families the chance to experience the benefits of time spent outdoors through rugby, alongside its other brand partnerships including Outdoor Classroom Day and parkrun.
Gemma Cleland, Unilever vice president of home care, explained: “One of our brand’s key missions is to get more children and families outdoors, to experience life to the full – our partnership with England Rugby is going to be the perfect way to help drive this forward.”
Simon Massie-Taylor, RFU chief commercial officer, added: “We are really excited to welcome Persil to our roster of partners. We look forward to working with such a well-known family brand and the ‘Dirt is Good’ campaign to encourage more kids and parents to get outdoors and enjoy the game.”
As part of the new agreement, England men’s and women’s teams will be supplied with Persil laundry bags including a range of products to keep their kit clean in training camp.
