The PGA Tour has signed a five-year partnership with Omni Hotels & Resorts, which will see the chain become the official hotel partner of the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions through to 2022.

The deal, which marks Omni’s first major sports sponsorship, will include a variety of benefits for the Tour’s players, including the highest-level membership in its Select Guest loyalty programme and a designated number of room nights for members of the PGA Tour, PGA Tour Champions and Web.com Tour.

During the PGA Tour event, as part of Omni’s Say Goodnight to Hunger programme, Omni Hotels will provide four meals for a family in need for every birdie-or-better made during each PGA Tour event. The meals will be donated through the local Feeding America food bank in each tournament’s home city in the United States. For international tour stops, donations will be made to food banks in those regions.

Commenting on the deal, president of Omni Hotels & Resorts, Peter Strebel said: “This partnership elevates our long-standing commitment to golf and highlights one of our core values of local market leadership. We wanted to include the Tour cities in our Say Goodnight to Hunger programme, so we can give back and help more families.”

The agreement comes a month after the European Tour signed an agreement with Hilton to expand its partnership from supplier to an official partner of the organisation for the next three years.
