Pitch PR Wins Sony Ericsson Tennis Contract

Pitch PR has been appointed by Sony Ericsson to handle the global PR account to
leverage the brand’s sponsorship of women’s tennis, principally through its
title backing of the WTA Tour.

Following a competitive pitch process, Pitch takes over the account to
promote the £66m title sponsorship from previous agency partner Four
Communications whose contract recently expired.

Pitch will oversee not only global PR for Sony Ericsson’s title sponsorship
of the WTA, but also the Sony Ericsson Open, a joint ATP and WTA event, which
takes place in March in Miami.

Sony Ericsson’s involvement in women’s tennis has been highly successful for
the brand in particular through the introduction of its innovative night tennis
event held in Madrid last year.
