The use of TV monitors in Premier League dug-outs allowing managers to view replays has been banned under a new legislation for next season.
The top-flight voted to ban the use of such TV screens pitch-side in a bid to try to reduce pressure on match officials.
Commented Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore: ‘It’s just one of a number of things we are looking at in terms of the respect agenda. The clubs voted to take that facility away from the proximity of the technical areas.
‘We are trying to eradicate the idea that a club official or manager suddenly runs up to a monitor, looks at something and demonstrably shows the fact that he is not pleased with what he has seen.’
