Premier League clubs are set to decide this June whether to extend the parachute payments for relegated clubs from two years to four years.
The proposal to extend the payments will be discussed at the Premier League’s club’s AGM meeting.
The discussions are part of the Football League Solidarity Deal – which is discussed every three years.
The solidarity money for the Football League includes parachute payments, youth development and community projects.
However, any proposed changes to the payment system would have to be confirmed by the Football League.
The parachute payments are set to rise this summer from £12m a year to £16m.
