The Premier League has sent a letter warning top-flight clubs to be aware of possible betting scams at academy level matches, according to media reports.
The League’s general secretary Mike Foster allegedly revealed that suspicions have been raised regarding overseas betting syndicates possibly receiving details of matches on mobile phones.
For example, a man challenged at an under-18 match admitted he was working for an organisation in Hong Kong.
Due to this recent revelation, the Premier League is now asking clubs to look out for strangers who are constantly using mobile phones during play.
