Pokerstars Signs RFU Tie-up

The Rugby Football Union (RFU) has signed up online gambling brand PokerStars as its official gaming partner for the England team for the next two years.
 
The agreement gives PokerStars access to a wide range of benefits including player appearances and imagery, perimeter and programme advertising at Twickenham, tickets and hospitality for Twickenham games.

The deal comes despite increasing pressure from lobbying groups for associations between gambling brands and sports bodies to be banned.

A recent report claimed that such links were setting a bad example after accusations of illegal betting operations against Premier League football academy games were reported by the media.
