Porsche is rumoured to be considering entering F1 in 2013, a scenario that was met with a ringing endorsement from the sport’s supremo Bernie Ecclestone.

‘It sounds absolutely great,’ the 79-year-old F1 chief executive commented. ‘Whatever I can do to make it happen, I will.’

Porsche officials have already announced that a decision to enter F1 could only be taken if the FIA’s plans for a ‘World Engine’ came about.

The board of Porsche’s parent, Volkswagen, would meet early in November, 2010 to make a decision.
