Ian Poulter has confirmed a new supply deals with Titleist and Footjoy, after announcing his decision to part company with Cobra-Puma golf last week, bringing to an end an eight year partnership.

A member of Europe’s victorious Ryder Cup team at Gleneagles last month, Poulter made the announcement via his Twitter account on Tuesday.

The new deals with Titleist and Footjoy – who share a parent in Acushnet – will see the 38-year old play with clubs and wear shoes of the respective brands from January.

Poulter tweeted: ‘Seriously pleased to announce I will be a full staff @Titleist @FootJoy staff player for 2015 season. So excited.’

According to media reports, Titleist is expected to make a more formal announcement about the nature of the partnership when the deal begins next year.

Poulter currently wears clothing from his own IJP Design range.

New deals, particularly regarding equipment, came under scrutiny last year after world number one Rory McIlroy signed a multi-million pound partnership with Nike Golf that resulted in a huge loss of form.

The four-time major winner has since rediscovered his form with his new clubs, winning the last two majors of the season to re-establish himself as the best player in the world.
