Powerade Unveils Innergear Rugby Ads

Sports drink brand Powerade is launching a new advertising campaign using its ‘InnerGear’ strapline to support its sponsorship of the England and Wales rugby teams.


The campaign, which looks to build on the success of the InnerGear concept used by the brand around the Olympics, features England rugby players Steve Borthwick and Paul Sackey and Welsh wing Shane Williams photographed performing their sport stripped of all their performance clothing.


The shots, taken in London ahead of the RBS 6 Nations by photographer Alan Clarke, feature the players performing skills integral to their positions and style of play.


The images will form the basis of a print, online and outdoor advertising campaign running on billboards, banners and in press throughout the UK during the RBS 6 Nations.


Powerade is the official sports drink of the Rugby Football Union and the Welsh Rugby Union.
