Lucozade Powerleague, the 5-a-side football operator, has announced a partnership with freestyling duo, The F2, to create a new kids’ summer camp product.
The Powerleague Ultimate Skills Soccer Camp will run across the business’ 49 centres from 18th July. Children will learn skills through daily F2 videos produced exclusively for Powerleague and the F2 Ultimate Soccer Skills Bible.
The pair will also set daily challenges and kids that complete all of them will be rewarded by becoming #F2certified. The camps are overseen by FA accredited coaches but for three camps, The F2 will be down there in person running the sessions.
Rupert Campbell, Powerleague CEO, said, “This is a game-changer for our industry. Creating camps that allow kids to learn directly from the YouTube stars they idolise demonstrates our understanding that kids today want experiences that live both on and offline.
“The two worlds are merging and we know we need to create 5-a-side experiences that live beyond our centres to appeal to our younger players. This is another example of Powerleague pushing the boundaries of product innovation and customer experience in this industry. “
Billy Wingrove, F2 freestyler, said, “We are always asked ‘how we do it’ so we can’t wait to pass on our skills to our fans in an environment where they can practice and learn with support from pro coaches. You never know, Powerleague may be where the next generation of freestyling stars come from.”
