Sports apparel brand Precision has launched a competition designed to give aspiring and amateur goalkeepers an opportunity to become part of the brand’s stable of professional stoppers for the remainder of the season.
Multiple requests via social media for the brand to sponsor amateur, non-league and grassroots goalkeepers led to the creation of the Precision Goalkeeping competition.
One adult and one junior goalkeeper will be supplied with Precision Goalkeeping gloves, the chance to meet professional goalkeepers, will have the opportunity to take part in a one-on-one coaching session from Republic of Ireland goalkeeping coach Alan Kelly Jr. The winners will also be given behind the scenes access to meet Precision Goalkeepers and will get the chance to test their handling of questions in an exclusive interview.
Precision will track the development of the two professionally endorsed keepers throughout the season, updating their progress through their website.
The competition can be entered via the official Precision Goalkeeping Twitter and Facebook pages.
The Precision Goalkeeping stable includes the likes of Kasper Schmeichel, Kieren Westwood, Frank Fielding, David Forde, Darren Randolph, Brian Jensen, Robert Olejnik, Ian McLoughlin, Trevor Carson and Republic of Ireland goalkeeping coach and former international Alan Kelly.
Former England manager Graham Taylor is lead brand ambassador for Precision, and the Nottingham-based company also have official partnerships with McDonalds, Vauxhall, the Irish Football Association and Football Association of Wales.
