The Premier League has agreed a new deal for its TV rights in China, in its biggest ever overseas sale.

The deal with online video streaming service PPTV, a media division of China’s Suning retail group, is reportedly worth around £564m.

The three-year deal runs from 2019 season until 2020 season and if reports are correct it would be worth ten times more than the league’s current China TV deal. Currently, the contract is with Super Sports Media Group, which is paying £16m a season to air all 380 matches, with PPTV also having the rights for games from Spain’s La Liga in China.

Suning has already invested in European football, having bought a controlling stake in Italian club Inter Milan in June this year.

Manchester City, West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa are among the English clubs to have received investment from China over the last year.
