All 20 Premier League clubs have provisionally agreed to introduce new costs measures in the league which, if implemented, would overhaul the current system.
Representatives from the clubs met for the sixth time in an effort to curb losses as well as finding a way to prevent the majority of profits from the league’s media deals going to players and their agents.
The two main proposals that the clubs agreed to in principle include a cap on the amount that clubs can increase their wage costs by each season as well as a break-even rule. The proposals will now go to the chief executives of each club to produce plans on how the measures would work in practice.
