Manchester United will return to the US this summer to defend the club’s title in the International Champions Cup exhibition tournament, alongside fellow Premier League side Chelsea, as well as Barcelona, while Tottenham Hotspur will take on an MLS All-Star XI.

The competition will also feature Fiorentina, Porto, PSG, LA Galaxy, New York Red Bulls, San Jose Earthquakes and Club America, with exact fixture dates, venues and ticket details due to be announced in the coming weeks.

As with 2014, United’s Tour 2015 will be presented by Aon, the financial services company that serves as a principal partner of the club.

Last year 109,318 fans watched United take on Real Madrid in Michigan, the largest ever crowd at a soccer game in the US.

Manchester United group managing director, Richard Arnold, said: “The club is delighted to be returning to the United States for Tour 2015, presented by Aon. Manchester United made history in its last visit to the United States by breaking the country’s soccer attendance record and the huge level of support for the club was evident in every city we visited.

“This summer’s tour is the latest in a long line of visits to the US; a tradition that began some 65 years ago under the guidance of the great Sir Matt Busby.”

Meanwhile, Major League Soccer has announced that Tottenham Hotspur will face the best the league has to offer in the 2015 AT&T MLS All-Star Game.

It is the 12th time in the event’s 20 year history that an international club will take on the MLS All-Stars.

Previous clubs that have taken part include Manchester United (2010 & 2011), Everton FC (2009), Chelsea FC (2006 & 2012), AS Roma (2012) and, most recently, FC Bayern Munich (2014).

The annual match will be played on 29th July at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, home of the Colorado Rapids.
