The Premier League is hosting an esports tournament featuring players and celebrity fans from all 20 teams.

Representatives from each team will go head-to-head in a tournament played out on EA SPORTS’ FIFA 20 throughout the week, taking place between 21st and 25th April.

The event will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, as well as on all of the digital and social channels of both the broadcaster and the Premier League itself. Meanwhile the likes of Raheem Sterling, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Moussa Sissoko will take part for their teams, with celebrities like musician Tom Grennan also getting involved – representing Manchester United.

“In response to the pandemic, the League, our clubs and players are providing valuable support for communities and the NHS,” said Richard Masters, CEO, Premier League.

“We are also aware of the importance of finding new ways to entertain fans at this time and we are excited to bring together a strong line-up of players for the ePremier League Invitational tournament.

“With Sky Sports screening the competition live in the UK and many of our international broadcast partners also showing the matches, fans around the world can tune in and enjoy the action.

“We know how popular FIFA 20 is with players and I am looking forward to seeing who will be crowned the ePL Invitational champion.”

The prize fund for the tournament will be donated to the #PlayersTogether initiative, created by Premier League players as a collective way of generating funds for the NHS and distributing them where they are needed most. Meanwhile, the tournament will also urge fans to follow government advice to stay at home in order to save lives.
