Premier Rugby, the governing body which runs rugby’s Guinness Premiership, is
launching its first ever integrated marketing campaign to support the launch of
the new season.
The campaign is titled ‘Be Part of It’ and provides a central theme and
blueprint enabling Premier Rugby, its member clubs and its commercial partners
to market the competition in a consistent way across the country and throughout
the season.
Other than title sponsors Guinness, additional commercial partners involved
in the campaign include O2 and Coral.
The ‘Be Part of It’ theme will be communicated through all channels including
national and regional media, digital, sponsor activation and through Sky Sports,
the broadcast partner for the Guinness Premiership.
Jon Duckworth, head of marketing and promotions at Premier Rugby said: ‘We
believe that this is the first time that a major sports league or governing body
in this country has introduced an integrated approach to its marketing that can
be activated by each of its member clubs as well as by its major commercial
partners.
‘As a result, we are confident that 2007/8 will be the biggest season yet for
the Guinness Premiership in terms of broadening the profile of the league and
increasing attendances at club matches and at our marquee events such as the
Guinness Premiership Final.’
The new Guinness Premiership season launches on 15th September with the
annual London double header at Twickenham Stadium which sees Harlequins play
London Irish and London Wasps face Saracens on the same day.
