The Scottish Professional Football League has secured an agreement with Premier Sports to extend UK broadcast and sponsorship rights for the Premier Sports Cup until summer 2031.
The four-year extension has included both title sponsorship and broadcast rights and has ensured that Premier Sports will continue to show live coverage of the tournament in the UK, including 25 group stage matches via streaming and five on linear television each season.
The SPFL has also confirmed that Premier Sports has acquired rights to broadcast matches from the KDM Evolution Trophy for the first time. At least four games from the competition will be shown this season, with the option to expand coverage.
The new agreement has followed last year’s updated long-term broadcast deals between the SPFL, Premier Sports, and Sky Sports, which have allowed two post-split, bottom six Premiership matches to be shown live by Premier Sports from the 2025/26 season onwards.
Last season’s Premier Sports Cup drew a combined attendance of 440,697, with Celtic winning the final on penalties against Rangers after a 3-3 draw.
Premier Sports had previously signed a five-season deal to show 20 live William Hill Premiership games per season in the UK and Ireland, and that number has now increased to 22.
Coverage of the 2025 tournament begins this Friday with Edinburgh City playing Partick Thistle at 7.45pm. Hearts will host Dunfermline Athletic at 5.15pm on Saturday in Derek McInnes’ first competitive match as manager.
