Premiership Rugby Launches Online TV

Premiership Rugby has announced a three-year deal
with digital sport specialists Perform to launch Premiership Rugby
TV, a new online channel.

The channel, which was in place for
the start of the new domestic season, is the online portal for fans
to watch all Aviva Premiership Rugby throughout the 2010/11
campaign.

The deal includes highlights of every Aviva
Premiership Rugby match as well as exclusive interviews and features.

It also comprises online audio commentary rights and live
match stats for the league, meaning fans can follow their individual
teams live through the website.

To accompany the development
of the online channel, Perform are also managing the outside
broadcast production from 66 of the 135 matches throughout the season
– all those not broadcast by ESPN or Sky Sports.

Perform
are also producing the 52-minute weekly Aviva Premiership Rugby
highlights show, to be shown on ITV 1 and 4 as well as distributed
internationally.

As part of the service, web highlights of all
135 Aviva Premiership Rugby matches for Premiershiprugby.tv will be
distributed in 90-second highlight packages across its ePlayer
broadcast network, which streams sports highlights across over 600
publisher websites globally as well as on Premiershiprugby.com and
the 12 official club websites.
