Everton FC has added to its sponsorship portfolio after announcing a new collaboration with The Protein Works, which will see the entire first team squad supplied with bespoke sports nutrition formulas, while the club also revealed its new away kit for the 2013/14 season.
The custom made nutrition formulas will personalise a player’s nutrition in synergy with training and recovery programmes at Finch Farm. The end result is post exercise formulas designed to aid recovery post training and post match.
Head of Sport Science and Conditioning at Everton, Steve Tashjian said: ‘The Protein Works are at the forefront of innovation right now in sports nutrition and are able to provide high quality products with bespoke formulations.’
Head of R&D at TPW, Nick Smith, added: ‘The whole process has been very complex and technically demanding, but credit must be given to Everton’s conditioning team who have demanded excellence. The Club’s motto Nil Satis Nisi Optimum, which means nothing but the best is good enough, was definitely at the forefront of all our minds on this ground-breaking project. To help pioneer a ‘first’ in English football has been amazing.’
Meanwhile, Everton FC has also revealed the latest addition of the Toffees’ ‘DNA’, after unveiling its new 2013/14 away kit (pictured).
Available to pre-order now, the new away shirt is a mix of yellow and blue and features a v-neck collarless design.
The kit is made from recycled polyester in accordance with Nike’s plans to produce athletic wear with a low environmental impact. The shirt and shorts of each kit are made from up to thirteen recycled plastic water bottles.
The new kit will be officially launched at an event on Thursday 22nd August.
