Paris Saint-Germain and licensed sports merchandising company Fanatics have announced a new ten-year e-commerce, manufacturing and licensing deal.
Running until 2030, the deal will see Fanatics create or sub-license PSG branded products – manufacturing and distributing a significantly expanded range.
“Above all, we were looking for uniting competence and excellence,” said Fabien Allegre, Brand Diversification Director, Paris Saint-Germain.
“What is special about Paris Saint-Germain is its brand ambition in fields outside football. On the other side, Fanatics has an incredible know-how when it comes to fan experience and maximising the potential of sports brands. Our ambition, which is high, is to join forces at times when consumption habits change rapidly and business evolves daily.”
The deal will see PSG gain access to Fanatics’ database of 45 million active clients in Europe, North America and Asia. The pair say the short-term goal will be to expand the club’s e-commerce business threefold over the next 36 months.
Gary Gertzog, President of Business Affairs, Fanatics, said: “Paris Saint-Germain is one of the most forward thinking and innovative football clubs in the world and is, without doubt, one of the hottest brands in global sport right now.
“Partnering with like-minded organisations that enjoy thinking outside of the box to move the industry forward is what excites us. We are incredibly proud to team up with a club that is willing to push the boundaries of what is possible to continue enhancing the experience for sports fans globally.”
PSG have been declared Ligue 1 champions after a curtailed 2019/20 season, but will compete in the UEFA Champions League’s restarted tournament which will take place in Lisbon in August.
