Pulse Play has revealed it is 74% of the way to its funding target, as the social ranking and scorekeeping wearable bids to raise its target of $75,000.

So far the Indiegogo campaign has raised over $55,000, with 45 days left. Pulse Play has also introduced a referral programme, where backers can get a certain amount refunded on their original pledge, or a free Pulse Play, depending on how many friends they refer through to the campaign.

In a bid to take the concept from operational prototype to a market ready product, the campaign raised over $20,000 in the first 24 hours.

As well as units of the product, the fundraising bid is also offering a chance to use it on the court with the company’s CEO, and three time Grand Slam champion Andy Ram, as well as VIP passes to the upcoming U.S. Open and French Open events.

The Pulse Play was designed to settle an age-old problem among recreational racket sports players: accurate and reliable scorekeeping.

The device, along with its online companion platform performs three main functions: scorekeeping, game history and a worldwide social network able to connect players with new opponents in their area, who play at the same level.

Andy Ram, CEO Pulse Play, said: “With the continued support of racket sport players, we’ll be able to bring their games to the next level through technological innovation.

“The prospect of being able to bring professional scorekeeping and wearable technology to center courts across the world has our team eager to get the mass production process underway. With just an easy click between points, players can have an accurate record of their progress at their fingertips.”

The racket sports market annually brings in about $25bn to $30bn worldwide, and accounts for around 275 million people around the world who engage in activities ranging from tennis and badminton, to ping pong and squash.

Andy Ram partnered with venture building team, sFBI (Small Factory Big Ideas) to finalise the Pulse Play concept.

As a veteran of the sport, Ram brought his expertise from the courts to the tech world, allowing the team at sFBI to capitalise on his knowledge to create a beautifully designed, practical product that can potentially change the face of racket sports the world over.
