Puma has announced a new long-term deal to become the official supplier and the official licensee of replica merchandise for Rangers Football Club. Set to begin at the start of the 2013/2014 season, the sports lifestyle brand will also supply the club with their technical and replica kit, as well as training wear.
The five-year deal also coincides with the announcement of a new shirt sponsorship agreement with Blackthorn Cider for the fourth-tier Scottish football club.
Charles Green, chief executive, Rangers, said: ‘Puma is an international brand with global recognition that excels in the development of technical playing kits, and the sales and distribution of replica wear. We look forward to a successful relationship, both on and off the pitch.’
Puma will replace existing sponsors, Umbro, as the Old Firm side’s kit supplier.
Tony Ward, managing director, Puma UKIB, added: ‘Rangers Football Club is an iconic club with a rich history. When the opportunity arose to develop a technical partnership with Rangers, we were delighted to reach agreement with the club. We are extremely proud to be associated with the club, and look forward to providing technical and training wear for Rangers Football Club.’
The Puma kit will feature the brand’s Dry Cell technology which aims to enhance performance by improving airflow and keeping the body at an optimum temperature.
