Purplebricks has launched a new community programme as part of its partnership with Team GB ahead of the rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games which are set to take place this summer.
The estate agent has appointed The Space Between to create and deliver a community programme as part of its Home Support campaign in the build up to the Games, which will call on the nation to get behind the team even though travel to Tokyo and attendance at events may be impossible.
Purplebricks first partnered with Team GB in 2019, launching a light-hearted TV advertising campaign, before releasing the Home Support campaign once the Games were rescheduled and commissioning current and former elite athletes to create Olympic-inspired artwork, which now appears on Purplebricks For Sale signs across the UK.
The Space Between – which was shortlisted for Young Agency of the Year at the Sport Industry Awards 2021 – has developed a new community programme that will build on the momentum of the Home Support campaign in local communities this summer. Purplebricks agents across the country will collaborate with schools and artists to create a ‘relay of Home Support’, expressed in publicly displayed street art inspired by Team GB, local athletes and local communities.
The programme aims to ‘supercharge’ Purplebricks’ paid and owned media plans throughout the summer and during the Olympic Games, while the account will be overseen by The Space Between Co-Founder Lisa Parfitt and Account Director Alex Marsden.
“Could the Olympics be more perfectly timed this summer? Never has this nation needed anything more than to get behind our talented and inspirational Team GB athletes who have been training their whole lives for this moment,” said Parfitt.
“Purplebricks is a visionary business that really cares about its role and impact in local communities. We’re delighted to be able to support Purplebricks with this campaign, designed to build connections, continue to increase its local relevance and, of course, play a small part in bringing the nation together and behind Team GB with Home Support.”
Ben Carter, CMO, Purplebricks added: “We all remember the special sense of excitement that swept the nation during London 2012. This summer, with Team GB athletes a long way from home, we want to keep the home support burning brighter than ever and The Space Between is the perfect partner to deliver a programme for communities right across the UK.”
Meanwhile, The Space Between has also been appointed low-alcohol beer manufacturer Small Beer Brew Co. The agency will work on a cycling PR brief, adding both the brewer and Purplebricks to its existing clients, including Mitsubishi Motors, Vitality and Principality Building Society.
