Team GB partner Purplebricks has launched a new campaign with British medal hopefuls ahead of the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.

The humorous campaign features a series of videos involving four-time Olympic gold medal-winning cyclist Laura Kenny, taekwondo world champion Bianca Walkden, diving bronze medallist Dan Goodfellow and rowing bronze medallist Moe Sbihi. A Purplebricks estate agent, named Alice, tries to gain the attention of the athletes during training, drawing on the work estate agents do for their clients.

Purblebricks Chief Marketing Officer Ed Hughes said: “Purplebricks is famous for its honest take on the world of estate agency with an added twist of humour, and we saw no reason to stop when it came to our sponsorship of Team GB.

“This is our biggest campaign so far and underlines the passion and commitment of our people to being the leading property experts in all corners of the nation – even if that advice can’t quite take you to the podium in Tokyo.”

As Team GB’s Official Estate Agent, Purplebricks will be a partner until the end of 2020, while the new campaign – which includes support across video on-demand, Digital, PR and Social channels – will run throughout the Games this summer.

The new Rule 40 guidance published by the BOA late in 2019 allows brands to advertise their partnership with Team GB athletes during the Games window if the campaign has been running for at least 90 days before the start of the event.

The Tokyo Games will begin on 24th July and end on 9th August.

Tim Ellerton, Commercial Director, Team GB, said: “The Purplebricks campaign really complements the ambition of what we need and what we strive to achieve in the run-up to the Games – and that’s for the nation to get behind the athletes,” Ellerton said.

“For our team to know they have home support makes such a difference.

“The fun that Purplebricks have created in association with our athletes will undoubtedly cement that message over the coming months.”
