Middle East airline Qatar Airways has extended its sponsorship deal with English
cricket’s seven Test Match Grounds for the next four years.
The deal, brokered by Frontiers Group which represents the commercial
interests of the seven grounds, will see Qatar Airways sponsor all of the
domestic and Test match cricket staged at Chester-le-Street, Edgbaston,
Headingley, Lord’s, Old Trafford, Trent Bridge and The Brit Oval until the end
of the 2010 cricket season.
As the official airline of the grounds, Qatar Airways’ marketing deal
includes exclusive in-stadia signage, marketing rights, tickets and hospitality.
Qatar Airways is rapidly expanding their route network and now fly to 75
destinations across Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, the Indian
subcontinent and the Far East, with a launch to the USA planned for June 2007.
Qatar Airways operates 35 flights a week from London Heathrow, London Gatwick
and Manchester.
