EA SPORTS and Championship side QPR have teamed up to add Kiyan Prince to FIFA21 on 15th anniversary of his death.
Prince, a talented footballer in the QPR academy, was stabbed to death in 2006 while attempting to break up a fight, aged 15. His father now runs the Kiyan Prince Foundation, which bears his name and aims to inspire vulnerable young people – it also currently holds naming rights to the team’s Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.
In partnering with EA SPORTS, the club has ensured Prince is now a playable character as part of the QPR team in the game, working with Prince’s family, friends, and former teammates and coaches to integrate him into the team. The pair have aged his appearance using images from his teen years, and developed his on-pitch characteristics and style of play.
The imagery was brought to life in-game by Framestore – the special effects company behind Avengers: Endgame.
15 years ago today, Kiyan Prince lost his life.
Today, we honour his legacy and the player he was destined to become.
