Queens Park Rangers FC has signed an agreement with low-cost airline Air Asia for the sponsorship of the team’s away shirt in a reported one year deal.

Air Asia owner Tony Fernandes bought the West London club last year, with talks over a sponsorship deal reportedly taking place shortly after the takeover in September – however, the deal has now been confirmed for a one-year period.

According to Malaysian news agency Benarma.com, the deal is worth £350,000.

The Premier League club’s home shirt is sponsored by Malaysia Airlines.

Earlier this week, AirAsia also agreed a one-year extension to its sponsorship of the Caterham
F1 team, as it prepares for the 2012 Formula One season – the group
entered Formula One in 2010 as Lotus Racing.
