Queens Park Rangers has agreed a stadium naming rights deal with Matrade.
The three-year deal worth £1.2m with the Malaysian agency – that QPR co-owner Ruben Gnanalingam sits on the board of – will see the club’s 18,439 capacity ground renamed the Matrade Loftus Road Stadium.
The change takes place with immediate effect, with the agreement running up to and including the 2025/26 season.
This is not Loftus Road’s only name change in recent years. In 2019, the EFL Championship football club gifted the naming rights to the stadium to The Kiyan Prince Foundation, a charity set up in honour of former QPR youth player Kiyan Prince.
Lee Hoos, Chief Executive Officer of QPR, said, “We are delighted with this agreement. The club is always looking at ways to increase our portfolio of partners.
“This decision to render the naming rights of the stadium is made with the commercial interests of the club at heart, and we look forward to working with MATRADE.”
Matrade is a national trade promotion agency under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) to develop and promote Malaysia’s export to the world.
Reezal Merican Naina Merican, Chairman of Matrade, added, “When I initiated the proposal for MATRADE to rebrand itself after 30 years of its establishment, I saw that the new naming rights partnership was an opportunity for Matrade to elevate our brand visibility on the international scene.
“By leveraging QPR’s long-standing history in English football, Matrade will be able to enhance its global recognition as a trusted agency to connect trade between our two countries.
“We look forward to a successful partnership with QPR.”
