R&A Confirms 2011 And 2012 Open Venues

The Royal and Ancient Golf Club has confirmed Royal St George’s and Royal Lytham
& St Anne’s as the venues for the 2011 and 2012 Open Championships.
The Kent venue of Royal St George’s last staged the Open in 2003, and the
last Lytham tournament was held in 2001.
Current champion Padraig Harrington
will defend his title at Royal Birkdale in 2008.
Royal Lytham will stage The Open for the 11th time in 2012 a week before the
Olympics start in London while Royal St George’s has hosted the event 13 times.
It will be the first time the championships have been staged in England two
years in a row.
