Event registration and fundraising platform RaceNation has announced Will Golder as Group CEO, responsible for the development and leadership of RaceNation, SportsGiving and RaceNation Events.
Golder, who joined RaceNation in a business development role in 2015, is a former Team GB bobsleigh driver, who has worked in the mass participation industry since his retirement.
In his time at RaceNation, the company has grown to look after the safe running of more than 2,000 UK events, with Golder credited with broadening the company’s offering through the development of its fundraising platform SportsGiving as well as RaceNation Events – which was launched in September 2020 in a bid to support the mass participation events struggling from the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic.
It has since taken on 12 new UK events and supported thousands of event participants and their chosen charities.
“Having known Will since his Team GB days, it’s been a pleasure to watch his journey from driving a bobsleigh at breakneck speed to driving our sports technology business,” said John Keenan, Chairman, RaceNation.
“Since joining, his skill and determination has made a marked impact, not only at RaceNation but in the industry as a whole. By integrating various industry firsts into the RaceNation offering, it’s little wonder RaceNation is growing so rapidly. Will is the perfect ambassador for the business as he leads RaceNation’s continued growth in the UK and expansion into international markets.”
Golder added: “As RaceNation continues to build an industry-leading offering, it’s a pleasure to be appointed CEO. I look forward to working with our amazing staff and clients in building a first class offering available to any events of any size, while continuing to support charities in maximising their fundraising through difficult times.”
Throughout the pandemic, RaceNation has also launched a list of features, including a virtual event offering enabling organisers and charities to host all their events, fundraising and results on one platform, while a new charity feature on the SportsGiving platform allows donors to cover small processing fees allowing 100% of the donation to go to the cause their are raising money for.
