English Football League (EFL) Championship football club Reading FC has announced the extension of its partnership with the wearable infrared performance clothing brand KYMIRA.
The KYMIRA products are designed to help athletes enhance performance, accelerate recovery and reduce the chances of injury, and will continue as the official recovery partner of Reading FC for the next two seasons.
The deal will see UK-based KYMIRA continue to support both the men’s and women’s teams, extending a relationship that started in February 2022.
Reading keeps itself on a KYMIRA client roster that includes Premier League football clubs, international rugby teams and Olympic organisations. In the US, KYMIRA currently supplies teams in the NFL, MLS, the MLB and Colleges across the Power 5.
Mark Bowen, Reading FC Head of Football Operations, said, “We believe KYMIRA to be world leaders in sports compression wear and are an integral part of the recovery and preparation of our men and women’s teams.
“Our partnership has delivered a superb impact in 2022, so we’re delighted to be extending our partnership. Feedback from coaching and medical departments as well as players has been universally positive, so we look forward to benefiting from their technology and product range going forward.”
Founder and CEO of KYMIRA, Tim Brownstone, added, “We’re proud to be renewing our agreement with Reading FC as their official recovery partner for the remainder of the 22/23 season and next season. With the help of our products, they’re taking a proactive approach to maximise player well-being and we are thrilled to continue supporting them.
“We are helping to reduce injury occurrence in many sports and football is no exception to that, with teams throughout the EPL, Championship, WSL and international leagues such as Serie A and the MLS using our products. Our products enhance performance, accelerate recovery and reduce the chances of an athlete becoming injured, allowing them to push harder, go further and recover quicker.”
